HIV/AIDS Program

Over 30 years into the epidemic the LGBTIQ group is still very vulnerable to HIV/AIDS. The reasons as to why young gay, lesbian and bisexual man continue to become infected with HIV are complicated, and there are no easy solutions to this serious problem (D’gayle strives to address this). Fortunately, D’gayle will offer CBOs and Effective Prevention Model.

We aim to mainstream HIV/AIDS into all the projects we run, we additionally plan to have a specific HCT awareness, education, and personal development project on HIV/AIDS, in addition also develop training on dealing with hate crimes perpetuated by HIV/AIDS. D’gayle also aims to create sensitization around MSM.

HIV prevention initiatives for the LGBTIQ Community in Northern Cape is very low, therefore our project ideas is to increase prevention and introduce safer ways, to ensure that these projects are ongoing, by using  strategies that include: Access to HIV testing for LGBTQ+ and linkage to care, Antiretroviral therapy. Access to condoms and Sterile syringes. The prevention program is also for people living with HIV and their partners.

We try to Incorporate HIV/AIDS awareness and education into all the projects we are running, we do  additional planning to have a specific HCT, awareness, education, and personal development project on HIV/AIDS, in addition also develop training on dealing with hate crimes and MSM sensitization.
